Puff the Magic Dragon came out in 1962 by Peter, Paul and Mary and reached #2 on the Billboard charts in 1963. Peter Yarrow has frequently explained that "Puff" is about the hardships of growing older and has no relationship to drug-taking. He has also said of the song that it "never had any meaning other than the obvious one" and is about the "loss of innocence in children". Its always been a favorite song of mine since first hearing it when I was nine years old. I am so thankful for the great memories I have stored up for the day when my grandkids get too old and too busy for me. I figure if I have not grown up by now- I don't need to and probably won't. This video was one of our trips to Chuck E Cheese, Quality Inn, and Raptor Reef Water park.

Surfin Safari
Three years ago today we got away for a short overnight vacation to Raptor Reef Water park. It's an indoor waterpark in Courdelane, Idaho and a tradition. We spent the night in Spokane at Quality Inn Downtown and then visited Chuck E cheese in the Valley on Sunday Night. Monday was a blast at the waterpark even with the extra spring break kids. we are so blessed to have such great getaways within driving distance like Raptor Reef and Silverwood and to have several great parks in our own towns. I think this was the first winter we did not make it to Raptor Reef in 5 years- Maybe this winter we can?
An old geezer, who had been a retired farmer for a long time, became very bored and decided to open a medical clinic. He put a sign up outside that said:Dr. Geezer'ss clinic. "Get your treatment for $500, if not cured get back $1,000."
Doctor "Young," who was positive that this old geezer didn't know beans about medicine, thought this would be a great opportunity to get $1,000.
So he went to Dr. Geezer'ss clinic.
This is what transpired.
Dr. Young: --- "Dr. Geezer, I have lost all taste in my mouth." can you please help me ??
Dr. Geezer: --- "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in Dr. Young's mouth."
Dr. Geezer: --- "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in Dr. Young's mouth."
Dr. Young: --- Aaagh !! -- "This is Gasoline!"
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your taste back. That will be $500."
Dr. Young gets annoyed and goes back after a couple of days figuring to recover his money.
Dr Young: "I have lost my memory, I cannot remember anything."
Dr. Geezer: "Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient's mouth."
Doctor Young: "Oh no you don't, -- that is Gasoline!"
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your memory back. That will be $500."
Dr. Young (after having lost $1000) leaves angrily and comes back after several more days.
Dr. Young: "My eyesight has become weak --- I can hardly see !!!!
Dr. Geezer: "Well, I don't have any medicine for that so -- " Here's your $1000 back."
Dr. Young: "But this is only $500..."
Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You got your vision back! That will be $500."
Moral of story -- Just because you're "Young" doesn't mean that you can outsmart an old "Geezer " !!!!

Catch A Wave
We have been to Raptor Reef Park now 4 times-once a year these last 4 years. First time when it was raining on a trip planned to Silverwood, so we went there instead. It is 200 miles from here, in Courdelene, Idaho. We left around 10am Tuesday. We ate Lunch in Moses Lake, and then to Spokane Riverfront Park around 1;30pm. Jan and Emilee went shopping while Cody, Caitlyn and myself checked out the park. We highly recommend Spokane Downtown Medical Center Quality Inn- they always treat us so good and kids love it there. We actually have stayed there over a dozen times and it is filled with good memories for us and the kids. They let us check in a few minutes early to rest, and then off to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and games. We drive by the house we lived at 35 years ago in the valley and where Jeremy was born. I was glad to rest back at motel, and the kids were good to let me. Wednesday we actually arrived 45 minutes before opening time, so Jan and Emilee shopped at Walmart and Cody, Caitlyn and myself played "I spy" in the car. Then we were the first ones in park at 10am. I could not go in water due to surgery, and they did not charge for me to sit and take photos. We ate lunch there, and about 3;30 we let the kids play some arcade games with money their mom gave them. After a 5pm meal at Taco Bell- it did not take the kids long to fall asleep for the quiet trip home. We really had a great time, wish you could have joined us. I feel sorry for you if you don't have grandkids- they really make these trips fun. Our kids grew up too fast.
